Calendar Quarter, Fiscal Quarter and Rolling Months

| Period | Starts | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Calendar quarter | January, April, July, October | Q4 2027: Oct–Dec 2027 |
| US federal fiscal quarter | October, January, April, July | FY2027 Q1: Oct–Dec 2026 |
| Rolling three months | Your chosen month | Nov 2027–Jan 2028 |
Calendar quarters
Q1 is January–March, Q2 April–June, Q3 July–September and Q4 October–December. Their three-month boundaries are fixed within the calendar year. A quarter overview keeps all three months together; a goals layout reserves a lower area for milestones.
Federal fiscal quarters
The US federal fiscal year starts October 1 and ends September 30. Fiscal year 2027 therefore starts October 1, 2026. FY2027 Q1 is October–December 2026, Q2 January–March 2027, Q3 April–June 2027, and Q4 July–September 2027. An employer may have another fiscal year: this federal sheet does not replace that employer’s calendar.
The federal fiscal year 2027 calendar shows the full October–September range. The annual boundary follows 31 U.S.C. 1102; the quarters divide that range into four three-month periods.
Rolling periods
A rolling three-month period begins in any month you choose. November 2027–January 2028 crosses a year boundary and is not calendar Q4. A six-month overview follows the same rule for six consecutive months. Choose the starting date in the generator and read the resulting range before downloading.
